the emp went off. the supersonic bullet hit the shockwave from the EMP before hitting the robot, so it detonated early. the robot was knocked forwards taking the full brunt of the EMP.

"ERROR! EERROORRR!!" Caan yelled out, as the EMP hit, but, while it barely was moving(Due to having some parts which weren't electronically controlled), it was still talking, which should raise some intriguing questions.

The military people seemed not to have noticed Daniel, so Alexa walked over and made sure he was still breathing. She checked over him and was very surprised to find he had a concussion, a bullet wound to each leg, busing around his throat, and he appeared to have taken a baseball bat to his back.
