I'd like to dispute Mac - step 2 doesn't really happen because Apple customer support is awesome. (I'm gonna be honest - when they replaced a motherboard on an out-of-warranty computer for free for me, they kinda won my consumer loyalty.)

And oh my lord, that Linux one is so accurate. Linux, I want to love you but you have to meet me halfway on this, and you really aren't.

Also remember my broken monitor? It's somehow working again and I don't know how.

Yes, because that is currently all the voice acting they have for SGR. They have confirmed that eventually they will have SGR with companions and with NPCs on most worlds, they just haven't finished all the programming needed to do so, so it was easier to just have it on the new planet for now.

Epic Mickey II didn't crack the top 10 because they only released the first game on one platform and thought Disney had enough pull to get people to buy that platform just because of that game. PS and XBox gamers don't really do that. Had they gone across the board with all platforms from the beginning they would have had a franchise if the game itself was good enough. I don't know.

I think it has to do with straight re-use of the same game engine, with the exact same problems, with additional annoying problems tacked on.

It's too late to return the game now, but I'm valiantly refusing to play it until I finish the first one (i.e. all pins and other content collected).

I love the concept, but the execution was definitely well within "meh" territory.  Undecided

Nah; they knew people had a great install base; and as someone mentioned, it did very well; everyone was surprised at how good it was, and got it.

I think the problem is that they went multi-plat. It was a case of the XBox and PS3 gamers simply probably not caring, aside from the ones getting it for the family; they ones that would have considered it still not caring because of not having played the first game; and the Wii owners catching wind of all the bugs. That said, I wanna try it, since some people have a habit of playing up the downsides of things. =P

Truth: The motionplus was awesome to me... What's your issue with it? How did they ruin it?

I imagine new people coming to the forum expecting to see discussion about LEGO, only to see RPGs full of deranged characters and insane people talking about cheese and brains.
