Sweet. Well, Masuda pretty much dodged the question of the third version just now, so... I'd expect new info soon... And for it to be released next fall. =P I do wish they'd change up their release schedule, and/or do a simultaneous release here and in japan at the same time. But I just want Gray. =P

they'd have to postpone the Japanese one so that they could change the language for all other locations for a simultaneous release. However, with the third version only modifying things of the original games, switching text around shouldn't take too long, as everything's been localized already, except for new text.
So, yeah. We do need a simultaneous release for the third version. For the original two I'm fine with waiting.

I hope Landorus plays a part in Gray, and that you can catch all three genies and the three dragons. I wonder what part N will play in this. Most likely he'd try to control Kyurem, I think, but who knows.

*sniff sniff* What's that, Nosepass?  Timmy's stuck in a well?  You smell a repeat of the Platinum method of dealing with Legendaries?  Particularly for Reshiram/Zekrom's Trio Master/completer?  And you find it interesting that both Teams Magma and Aqua from R/S/E and Team Plasma from B/W/G have supposedly ecological motives, indicating R/S/E was at LEAST an influence, which possibly indicates the team was at least taking a look at it to see if it should be remade?  *sniff sniff* What's that?  You don't like it when I talk like this? *BZAAAP!!!* 

Hey, here's an idea: what if they re-release R/S/E on Virtual Console for the DSi/DSi3D and just add an option to migrate Pokemon to Gray if you have the Gray card in the slot?  Obviously, there'd be a few other changes to make (i.e. new moves, etc.), but it'd be VERY convenient for transferring, and I think it'd end up slightly cheaper than spending the extra money on physical packaging.  What do you think?

I don't know of a DSi3D. =P I know of a DSi, and a 3DS, but not a DSi3D. =P

And while that's possible, they'd have to redo their  method of handling GBA games on the 3DS(And it definitely wouldn't be on the DSi)... Apparently the VC on the 3DS currently can't support multiplayer, for at least the GB/GBC games. And Pokemon games are heavy on Multiplayer.

As for Aqua and Magma, they were the only team not to be mentioned when one of the grunts reflected on what had been going on in the past... At least, I believe it was like that. Been quite a few months since I last saw that part. =/

Though, for B/W/G, it was more a 'we want the Pokemon to be better off in general!' than a 'We want sea/land Pokemon to have more of what their natural habitat is!' =P

4. Well, I was going more along the lines of "the dev team did a R/S/E marathon before starting work on B/W/G."

3. If I recall...aren't FR/LG and R/S/E synchronous?  As in, they happened at the same time, but before any of the other games?  I can understand them pulling that with R/S/E itself, and with D/P/PT and HG/SS in the next generation, but pulling that with Unova would be stretching it.

...craziest idea ever.  What if they aren't remaking R/S/E, but were instead figuring out a way to make a whole new adventure in Hoenn?  Heck, I could see an unholy alliance of former members of some of the old teams (ESPECIALLY Cypher) making a comeback there, since Hoenn is fairly decentralized and unregulated (at least, compared to, say, Kanto or Sinnoh, or especially Black version Unova), and Cypher especially since XD hinted they would rebuild again and they are clearly familiar with at least some of the Hoenn Pokemon.

...dang, now I want to make this game myself.

2. I dunno; they typically like to release the big games retail-wise. Like how Rumble blast is a retail game for the 3DS, even though Rumble was a downloadable game on the Wii... And had much less stuff.

3. You have a mix-up with the numbers there? =P And that's possible, I guess, but I dunno. Though, there are a lot of similarities tech wise... For one, each was, at the time, a brand new start. They just didn't go as far with the new start with RSE as they did with B/W/G. =P

4. They've never officially stated when RSE took place; for all we know, it was a pseudo time machine, and only not mentioned like that, because they only mentioned they were trading between Hoenn and Kanto. Besides, we have trades coming to and from Orre spanning 5 years(Colo/XD), so... =P

5. I'm kinda hoping for some sort of crossover between B/W/G and any new Hoenn games. N disappeared somewhere... Another region... And I'm really guessing Hoenn. I mean, they've been hinting at it so much. The only thing is if the Sinnoh Dragon trio will appear there, but I won't say why, because that's an even bigger spoiler. =P But Cipher would be an interesting return... But; would it work better in a Hoenn revisit... Or in Gen 6, with a new region with Hoenn Pokemon and/or a revisit to Orre during the game(Though not having it as the main region, somewhat like Kanto in Gen 2/4).

3. No, I was re-ordering the things because I had more to say about 3 than about 4.

4. Except Bill was working with Lannette to help her build the Hoenn PC system, something he (I think) mentions in FR/LG.  There's plenty of references...but, they're fragmentary at best, so...

5. I'd actually expect a "Unova section" in the remakes more than a "Hoenn Section" in Gray.  Makes more sense to me, and if Gray ends up with more urban environments than natural ones, the "Unova Secion" in the remakes would be a good way to keep them around (i.e. the remakes happen some number of years before Gray, so Unova is not as urbanized as in the future). 
6. Well, since there's a Rocket grunt in B/W who remembers the old days, I'd kind of like to see the remnants of all the old teams unite, under the unwitting control of Cypher (but we wouldn't learn of this until very late in the story).  When you break the alliance up, the old teams realize Cypher was just using them, and they turn on Cypher, prompting the Cypher leader to promise revenge...thus setting up a more major appearance for Cypher in Gen VI.  The thing I like about an alliance of teams is, there's more of an excuse for balanced grunt teams, like with Aqua and Magma.  Yes, they're all still "themed" for Darkness and/or Poison (meaning the same two counter types would still work), but...I just want to see more variety in the villainous teams, especially in the grunts.  I cheered when I saw that the Aqua grunts had Carvanha at the Museum battle when I delivered the Devon Goods; I'd like more of that in the future.

4. Yes, but if you remember, Bill also made the PC system in GSC... So, at that moment, maybe it was something they were working on? As I said, the Timeline of Gen 3 is really messed up. xD

6. Not if they decide to make the return to Hoenn another sequel rather than an actual remake.  Which I would actually like; the system itself has pretty much reached its pinnacle.  Sure, there are minor tweaks here and there (*cough*theyreallyneedtofixthenidorina/nidoqueennobreedingglitch*cough*), but nothing as major as the Generation III additions or the Physical/Special move reassignments of Gen IV.  Generation V didn't really add that much to the meta-game, aside from new moves and Dream World Abilities.  (Triple and Rotation battles are just an extension of Double Battles, a Doubles team is pretty much ready for Triples with very few changes.)  I'm guessing the Generation VI won't add much more, either--the system doesn't need it.  So, I think from now on, the franchise should focus on new story more than new features.  (New Pokemon are included in "new story".)  I would understand a remake of R/S/E and even FR/LG, since they are a little outdated, especially in terms of moves and Pokemon (not to mention the Gen IV Physical/Special change) but beyond that I can't see any reason for remakes.  A team built entirely in Platinum can more than hold its own against teams that use the B/W changes, so there's no reason for a remake right now, and since I can't imagine any major changes to the game in Generation VI, I imagine it will still hold fairly true then as well.

So, I used that little trick I talked about before...and guess what?  I managed to get a female Mudkip!  AND there was a hiccup--that standard business about "The save file is corrupted" that forces me to save twice any time I want to save--which means (I think) that it ended up cloned--one on my save, one on the other.  It's awesome.

xD Well, all I was trying to say was, they have an odd number of types right now. Even one more would balance, even though it still wouldn't allow for gyms of all types in a single game, unless they had a two-gym region, 10 gym region, or something like that.

But okay then. What about fourth stage evolutions?(Like something after Electivire, for example) Or three type Pokemon?(I'm sure Charizard would love that chance to finally get his well-deserved Dragon type. =P) They can definitely come up with something, and there's been a lot of talk of what could be added... What is a good and bad idea, however, is a different question. =P

What new type could be added? Everything is fairly balanced at the moment. Ice type really only needs one more resistance (two if its really lucky) and Posion needs to be super effective on more types. Every other type is well balanced.

Adding a third type to pokemon would be rediculously hard, and wouldn't benefit many pokemon. Most dragons already have wings, so just switching Charizard and Gyarados to dragon typing and remove their flying types would be fine (keep their flying movepool though).

The only cool thing they could add (that I can think of) is 4 line evolutions (or 5). But that would really just leave you with 3 weak pokemon and a strong pokemon. It could be good for the early bug pokemon though, as you could actually use them all throughout the game.

As Flipz said, GameFreak should focus on storyline, pokemon characters and the region. No more linear regions. Something like Kanto, but with more cities and some cities without gyms (example: 20-24 cities- 12 gym cities, 8-12 other cities, 4 elite four member and a champion. That adds up to 17 'bosses' that could all be type specific).

I doubt any of this will happen though. The most likely is 4 stage evolutions.

The only technical improvement I could think of would be some way of making Happiness more integral to raising Pokemon; maybe Happiness adds bonuses to EVs and/or EXP?  I definitely would like to see a branched evolution line based solely on Happiness at the time a Pokemon reaches a given level; i.e. Friendlymon evolves at Level 22, but the level of happiness determines if it will evolve into Buddymon, Palmon, or Audifoemon.  (Yes, I'm aware those are the worst made-up Pokemon names ever.)  After this stage, you can evolve each of them into a third form using the standard Happiness evolutionary method, like Crobat.

EDIT: Oh, and it should get a baby evolution as well, just as an excuse to justify making a 4-stage line.
