Definitely no guide now unless I pay extra. >_> I'm annoyed about that now, because I wanted something I didn't just have to go online to look up stuff, so when I forgot stuff I could just look it up. Looks like that's not happening now. And the jury's still out on Plat being available. >_>

BT: Why? The fact that because it's one of the greatest Pokemon games(Wait, scratch that, THE greatest Pokemon game) to date, it'll be sold out of basically everywhere? Join the club, while I'm really wanting it today, I'm unfortunately thinking that won't be happening.

It is 1 ¹/₄ inches thick, contains a complete guide to the game, two Pokedexs (Sinnoh and Nat.), the second of which reaches from Bulbasaur to Shaymin [Sky Forme]. They also include a contest guide, a Frontier guide, and an underground guide.

Um, Blade?  Platinum is one of the best.  It's the best modern game, among modern standards (3rd and 4th generation).  However, I still have to say that G/S/C are better, at least from what I see.  Nothing can really compare to them, although I will admit that D/P/P gave them a really good run for their money, in my opinion.  

It seems in my rush and lack of time, I've made one grave miscalculation.  Everything that I've planned out is going according to plan with my team, but there's one hitch.  The Torterra, Infernape, Floatzel, Gliscor, and Staraptor are all going as planned, but I failed to plan out how, exactly, I would obtain a functioning Electivire.  I now realize that, in order to obtain even an Elekid Egg or an Electabuzz, I must wait until Route 222, which is right before the 8th Badge.  I've become saddened by this, and I've managed to transfer over an Elekid Egg, but it has all of the best moves for it (Thunder Punch, Ice Punch, Cross Chop, Earthquake).  It hasn't hatched yet, but I know it has them.  Thus, I've been debating over whether or not to use it, because that would compromise plans and make the game way too easy.  On the other hand, I have a Shinx ready to go, but I wanted to avoid using him this time around.  At this point, I suppose I'm going to go ahead with the Shinx.  That will make sure that I don't cheat myself of the enjoyment.  I'll properly hatch and raise an Electivire later, when the proper time arises.  Oh well, at least things are looking pretty good, although I haven't made much progress on it yet, due to complications in life, as well as the LRC. 

I was hoping to be done with getting to Rank 10 in MLN before today, but I evidently see that didn't happen.  Oh well, I suppose I'll be taking the long road, then. 

It's looking pretty fun so far.   Of course, after hanging around at Serebii and SerebiiForums so much, you tend to learn a lot about stuff, so I all ready knew ahead of time about everything that's come my way.  Anyway.  We'll have to start swapping Friend Codes here soon, but I'd like to make a bit more progress on Platinum before doing that.  

Would you believe it if I said that there were many people at SerebiiForums that have all ready beaten the game?

i agree. Plat is nice, but it can't beat Crystal. they should make a DS version of it, with modern graphics and items, and touch screen pokegear.

Well, they would need to do it properly, and do the games some justice.  If they would turn out to be crummy games, then I would rather it be left alone.

if they do remake it, they could also use the WFC in the communications center, and add new areas, like the rest of the soul house, the sevii islands, the kanto radio tower, the Wifi plaza, a new battle frontier, more pokegear apps, etc. there is so much potential. if they do remake it, it should have a name similar to the originals, like with leaf green and fire red. maybe crystal clear?

I think I've managed to assemble a nice core for Plat. When I say "core," I mean the three starters. It took a lot of cross-refrencing and 12 Piplups (XD), but I think I've got something.

herochild:  No, that's the opposite of what most of the community wants.  There needs to be more focus on Johto, not less.  The one major flaw that existed in G/S/C was that there was much more focus put on Kanto then there was Johto.  I wouldn't be bothered if Kanto appeared, but I want Game Freak to not only do justice for G/S/C, but Johto in particular. 

DB:  I think you should be okay, but I don't have all Natures memorized, so I wouldn't exactly quote that. 

I've been meaning to get around to making the GSDS debate for months.  I'll try to work on it here.  There's a specific way that it needs to be presented, so I'll try to make it work.

I know, but kanto just seemed half-made in the originals. but they could also add some more jhoto areas, like letting you go to the roof of the burned tower (which, like Celebi, is currently japan only), or adding more areas to MT. Silver (and changing Red and Blues names to Ash and Gary). plus, Imagine being able to catch Arceus in Jhoto! and they could bring back Mewtoo, and the three birds, maybe even making it so you needed to catch them before you could catch Lugia. there is so much that they could do!

But all of it would be conflicting.  Recall that not only does G/S/C take place three years after R/B/Y, but this is the video games, not the anime.  In the games, those characters would retain those names.  The anime revolves around the games, not the other way around.  Also, I don't see what the point would be to going to the top of the Burned Tower, or adding onto Mt. Silver.  Mt. Silver's sole purpose was to present a slightly challenging method of battling what has been the strongest in-game trainer in history (until Platinum).  There wouldn't really be any reason to add on, and I don't see what the point would be to exploring the roof of a burned building that wouldn't serve any purpose otherwise.  Finally, the legendary references is the least likely of all.  Arceus' domain resides above Sinnoh, where he apparently "began everything".  There wouldn't really be any logic as to why he would be in Kanto/Johto of all places.  And because Mewtwo and the three birds were confronted by Red in R/B/Y, they can't exist in a GSDS. 

I understand that you're trying to be creative with this, and I applaud that.  It's just that there are too many continuity errors for almost any of that to happen. 

Meanwhile, did anyone else hear about this? o__0  Some people seriously need to get a life.

Also, in the article, one of the comments gave a link to a Youtube video about it.  I must warn you though, there is HEAVY evidence of racism in this Gengar.  Its name is a racial slur, and its moves revolve around ridiculing that race, so I only suggest watching that video if you're mature enough to deal with something like that.

well, continuity wise, it is never stated in G/S/C that the three birds or Mewtoo were captured. also, the roof is a little hard to explain, but in the Japan version, Eusine is there, and he gives a special item and a clue about Celebi. there is even a hole in the roof in the US version that is in the same spot as the enterane to the roof is in the Japan version. Also, legend wise, I just used Arceus as an example. it could be any legendary. plus, even though all the Sinnoh legendarys were captured in DP, they are still in Plat, which happens about four years later. is THAT a continuity  error?
