Just to be on the safe side, even if it's not possible, I just edited that part out to prevent others from getting ideas =P You try the upgrade glitch?
MT: Because it's supposed to be you racing, really, the teams are only there for different colours, possibly stats of cars(Not confirmed by any means), and so you can race with your team if you want, but usually that means going on the LMBs or if you've got people gathered in another place.
