Well, my teacher just finished reading "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens to my honors reading class today.  Pretty good, actually.  We already read Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Wednesday Wars" by Gary Schmidt.  All of them are really good, and I recommend them all.  Now, we have to read "To Kill a Mocking Bird", is it any good?

That's the only book she'll ever read aloud to us.  She did that because she said we would understand it better if she read it to all of us, giving us notes to write down when we're all at the same spot.  I think she made the right choice.

Are we allowed to chat about books here?  Like a "Books General Discussion" topic?

people here only seem talk about music, computers, and TV. do any of you read?

this is the topic to discuss what you like to read, your fav books, ect.

right now I'm reading Starship Troopers.

Yes Tommy60

My fave is the bible, not because I like to thump it, but because it is the basis for every great story ever written.

No writer who wrote a book of importance didn't read a little of the good book.

My Dad used to say, "The Bible is a book filled with good stories"

I'm not much for reading, for I feel that to write from the heart, one must not have been influenced by other writers.

I have written a book entitled "Amputating the Roots of Evil", it's a short but intence read, perhaps I'll post one day that which inspires me most.

Reading is a way to find yourself, it's the best way. Movies come and go, life experience may be forgotten, but the words you've read or written will allways dominate your dreams.

I am reading "A Crown of Swords" by Robert Jordan. Great book, and it's the 7th in the series, although I've read the series five or six times.

How many of you have read Animal Farm by George Orwell?

The novel addresses not only the corruption of the revolution by its leaders but also how wickedness, indifference, ignorance, greed and myopia destroy any possibility of a Utopia.
I highly recommend it.

I had read the book before... and wasn't very impressed. The characters were hard to believe in, like they weren't really real. There wasn't much action in the book, and what little there was seemed weak. There was a bunch of scenes in the book that didn't have to be there... I just didn't like it, even though I love reading about that kind of stuff.

Right now I'm reading The Voice by Bill Meyers (for the 3rd time). I'll probably review it after I finish reading it...
