I finished the prolouge. Now I have to get through the chapters with Elayne, and she's got to be the least entertaining character in that book. =P

I get so bored sometimes, re-reading books.

Thankfully, Karen Kingsbury came out with a new book, Take Three.

I am reading "The Great Husband Hunt" by Laurie Graham.
This is not a romance! The title and photo on the cover could mislead you. But this is a clever book, a marvelous character read. The main character, Poppy is a woman that you will love to hate. Uneducated, spoiled, and self-absorbed, she is also fun, impulsive, and hedonistic. Born into an affluent family in the early 1900s, she experiences all of the highlights of the 20th century; the sinking of the Titanic, 2 World Wars, Vietnam. She bounces through life with a carefree, unconcerned attitude, and, in spite of herself, everything always seems to work out in the end. There were times when I found myself disliking Poppy so much, I wondered if I wanted to finish the book. A few pages more, though, and I'd have forgotten all about how much she ticked me off and get caught up in her next adventure. Now, don't we all know people just like that??
Don't let yourself get too caught up in the historical details of this book. After all, it is just fiction! Let go a little, and, hopefully, you'll enjoy this as much as I do.

I recently read FableHaven, or the first three of that series. They're pretty good books.

What's ghost writing?

I just read the first nine of the Ranger's Apprentice series, they're pretty good. Anyone here read them?

EDIT: Literally right after I posted this I saw the book topic in entertainment, so could a mod please move this.

My favourite books:
-Ender's Game + Series
-The Hunger Games Series
-The Millenium Series

Other books I've read in the past year and would recommend:
-All of the Percy Jackson Books (especially for younger readers, or people who like Roman/Greek mythology)
-The Maze Runner Series (the first book is unfortunately the best, IMO)
-Across the Universe Trilogy (the first 2 books are amazing, the third will be released Jan 2013) <-- this series will likely join my favourite books, as long as the 3rd books ends well

I think I'll go check out the hunger games from my school library, if they have it. Heard that it's really good.

The Hunger Games series are pretty good. I just reread Percy Jackson though; I'd almost forgotten how much I loved those books. Cheesy

Yeah, I also recommend both the Hunger Games and both Percy Jackson series. Can't wait for book three of Heroes of Olympus; it's way too long of a wait. =/ But, I also know how long it can take to write stuff, and since there's two different series being written at the same time, I understand. =P

Have you read the Kane chronicles? They're good too.

And isn't their going to be a total of 5 books for Heroes of Olympus?

1. Yes, that's what I was referring to, by 'two different series being written at the same time'. =P Good books, can't wait for that book three, but that's only a few months wait, compared to like half a year. xD

2. Yeah, but you need book three before books 4 and 5. =P And the end's likely going to be here 2 years from now, at the rate the books are being made now. But I just meant the newest book, given I already read the Son of Neptune. =P(That title always messes me up. D=)

I'm super excited for The Mark of Athena. Those books never dissapoint me. And as long as one year seems, that's pretty good time to make a quality book.
Because I got into the Percy Jackson Series late I read all five of the first series at once, and then a year later got the next series started =D

I'm trying to get my gf to read them, but she's skeptical. Funny thing is, she really likes Greek mythology, and especially the demigods. =P
But yeah, I'm right there with you ZLS. I'm waiting for The Mark of Athena too. =D (with some impatience I might add)
