[The Host]

IMO Machamp has the coolest new sprite in HGSS. Runners up would be:
-Lugia
-Steelix
-Clefairy(only because the plat sprite was awful)
-Kabutops
-and Celebi lloks decent.

Machamp's sprite is so much better than Plat, and the reaching forwards pose is very nice.

And the game as a whole looks really good graphic wise, and although I'm not enthusiastic for the Pokethlon ts a good idea to add to a game. Red's pokemon are leveled up, although I'm not sure why he sticks with a Pikachu(I see for storyline reasons, but Raichu is much better(minus Light Orb or whatever that item is).

The E-4 looks a lot better than anything, and the last room is exceptionally well done(although Cynthia's team and room are better IMO). I'm glad the E-4 gets leveled up, though, because if I recall the GSC E4 didn't level up, and you were stuck training your team against a max of level 50, except for the hike into Mt Silver to fight Red.

and as for the HGSS tally:

HG: Him
SS: Blade, ZLS(that is what I plan anyways, and hopefully I'll have wi-fi by then(my emerald Rayquaza is Hardy Nature >_>))

and my starters will be:
Todidile(since I have a Cyndaquil in Plat)
Charmander(I don't like the other ones)
Mudkip(Need a good Swampert)

Author's Opinion: With monstrous Sp. Attack as well as very good Speed at base 110, this thing is an incredible sweeper. However, its defenses are rather poor, so it will fall pretty easily.
Recommended Movesets:

Nature: Timid/Modest
Item: Choice Specs/Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP/252 Sp. Attack/252 Speed
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast
~ Thunderbolt
~ Explosion/Hidden Power Fire/Sludge Bomb/Energy Ball

If you are using Explosion, do NOT use Choice Specs. Use Life Orb instead.

Shadow Ball for STAB of course, while Focus Blast gives it good type coverage, OHKOing Tyranitar that does not have a lot of Special Defense EVs.

Thunderbolt to incinerate Gyarados and 2HKO some Suicune.

Explosion can be used to cripple Special Walls like Blissey, but beware of Protect. Hidden Power Fire counters Scizor, who can deal massive blows with Pursuit or Bullet Punch. Sludge Bomb gets STAB, but has lackluster type coverage. Energy Ball deals Swampert and Rhyperior high damage as well as any other Ground types. Gliscor receives neutral damage to Energy ball though.
Countering Gengar:

Scizor can Bullet Punch for high damage if Gengar stays in or Pursuit it if it tries to switch out.

Basically, anything with Pursuit is a counter.

Also, Sucker Punch can deal high damage to Gengar combined with its poor defenses. Spiritomb is a good user of these moves.

And yes, it is a Special Sweeper. Tht means that Blissey and Snorlax wall it if it doesn't have Focus Punch.

Steel/Psychic types do well in walling all of its attacks not named Hidden Power Fire.

I can't wait to test out the PokeWalker... *Wonders how I could easily gain mass level profit...* ... Anyone notice we can effectively have 5 Pokemon trained from walking at a time, with the Day Care and this? It's the current most, as FR/LG had three available to train at a time.(Say... Did GSC allow you to have the DayCare in the route to the south of Cerulean train Pokemon too? Or was it closed like half the other things in Kanto?)

And it's okay, it's looking like I'll have a few rivals plus my red haired rival(Who is gaining more and more evidence to the claim/theory that FR/LG started...)

Celebi event confirmed. What Celebi..? Apparently a... Movie Celebi. =| Aka, I don't expect to see this event wide-spread for a while.

/EDIT: Just to make sure no-one's confused, by Celebi event, I mean an event activated by Celebi. Also, apparently there's a Rotom Room in HG/SS somewhere for the form changings.

On an unrelated note, I'm now trying to get Red's manga team, but his Pikachu's evading me. =| *Silently hopes I can get it before I have to go through Mount Moon*

You can't, because that would mean it'd have to be in-game, and they'd never do that >_> But at least it'll be easier to get, as when it comes out here, it should be like Moviegigas and Movie Shaymin in that it's distributed through TRU or so(Unfortunately. As that probably means no Celebi for me. ><). Or it could be over Wi-Fi when HG/SS comes out, as the event hasn't happened yet.

Oh, and-

you mentioned with teh release of these games no Pokemon would be obscenly hard to get, with the possible exception of Celebi. You forgot a Pokemon-Jirachi. The notorious Jirachi...is it even available outside of Japan?

I finally migrated a Mudkip to meh Platinum. Although I'm beginning to think there's no reason to make a competitive team if I can't use it for serious battles, besides the Frontier. And with my luck I'll just keep getting haxed like I always do >_<

And responding to that point, it's true, but they could've done it a little faster so I could activate those two ingame events. ... They better get it figured out for the Arceus/Shiny Pichu(That's all it is, even if it has a special name...) events... >_>

I'm not much for contests either, although in Emerald I won Master Rank in all 5 contests and got 5 pics taken.

I forget who I used for the others, but the contest moves changed in DPt, so I can't really give any help, especially without a Pokemon that you'd like to use.

I hate how Pokemon makes pokemon exclusive. Jirachi is one of my fav pokemon, and I can't use it at all in game because I haven't gone to any events or anything.
